For the summer of 2019 the following weeks will be offered:
The children will experience hands on cooking that is designed to encourage them to help in the kitchen. They will be introduced to different colors, tastes, textures and smells of foods and encouraged to try new ones.
The children will learn basic scientific and math facts in a fun, learning environment. All aspects of a STEAM curriculum will the incorporated into the camp. They’ll have a blast with hands on science experiments.
The children will spend most of their time outside, weather permitting. They will participate in water games; play with sprinklers, water tables, slip & slide plus much more. A “car wash” is a highlight of the week.
The children will build their confidence while developing skills such as passing, catching, hitting, kicking, jumping and throwing. They will learn to play baseball, soccer, basketball, golf, tennis, hockey and much more including gymnastics.
We will explore fundamentals of art such as color, line, shape, form, and texture. The children will have the opportunity to express their artistic aptitude through various activities such as painting, drawing and sculpture. This encourages the manipulative stage of art development in children to express themselves their emerging art skills. Children 3 and older will visit the High Museum to see the exhibit of Maira Kalman, author and illustrator of What Pete Ate.
Blast from the Past: This week we will be bringing back all of the favorite activities we have done during this summer’s camps. This will include Art, STEAM, Sports, Cooking and Water week. What a great way to end summer camp!
Kindergarten Kick Off: – Rising kindergarten students only – The children will have a fun week reviewing pre-k concepts of literacy and math skills. A confidence building week as they transition into kindergarten!
